SEATTLE — Amazon.com is adding wireless telephone services to the ever-growing list of products available on its Web site, company founder Jeff Bezos said Tuesday.
The online store, which was set to launch Tuesday night around midnight, gives buyers a simple way to compare and buy wireless phones, accessories and services, Bezos said.
"What I’m talking about is reinventing the wireless phone-buying experience," he said.
The store will offer several high-profile companies, and also will sell phones and accessories, including a glow-in-the-dark cell phone with a picture of Napoleon on it.
"You can’t find that just anywhere," Bezos said, laughing.
