SEATTLE — A King County judge is considering again whether Michele Anderson is competent to stand trial for her alleged role in killing six family members in Carnation in 2007.
The Seattle Times says Anderson has twice been found competent to stand trial following psychological evaluations in 2008 and 2011. But court records show her defense lawyers are again challenging her competency and ability to assist in her defense.
A psychologist retained by the defense is to resume testifying Tuesday before King County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell.
Anderson and Joseph McEnroe have pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated first-degree murder in the slaughter of Anderson’s family — her parents, brother, sister-in-law, and her young niece and nephew.
McEnroe’s trial is expected to begin in October.
