Jackson honors: Two Jackson High School band members returned from the Berklee College Music Camp and earned scholarships should they decide to attend Berklee (Boston). Senior Travis Abel, a percussionist, earned an $8,000 scholarship (renewable for four years up to $32,000) and junior Aubrey Logan, a vocalist and trombonist, earned a $12,000 scholarship (renewable for four years up to $48,000). Aubrey is a regularly featured singer for the “Star Spangled Banner” for the Seattle Mariners, and Travis will be performing in Carnegie Hall in January as a member of the National Festival Orchestra. Additional honors include All-State choir for Aubrey and State Solo and Ensemble Competition for Travis and Aubrey.
