ARLINGTON — Police early Saturday arrested four teens for investigation of several criminal charges after receiving numerous reports of car prowls.
Police arrested two 17-year-old boys from Tulalip and Marysville, a 16-year-old girl from Mukilteo, and a 15-year-old girl from the Arlington area. The arrests came in connection with 19 separate reports that the teens were breaking into people’s cars in Arlington’s Gleneagle neighborhood, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.
“That’s a lot of activity for one evening,” she said.
Police started receiving reports about 4:30 a.m. Many of the callers provided helpful, detailed information that allowed officers to find the group quickly, Banfield said.
The teens were in a car and apparently had been drinking, Banfield said. They will be referred to the Snohomish County prosecutor’s office for charging.
Police this week will be applying for a warrant to search the suspects’ vehicle and begin returning the stolen property to its rightful owners, Banfield said. People who believe they were victims of these crimes should call the Arlington Police Department at 360-403-3400. They will be asked to describe the stolen items.
A few minutes is all a thief needs, Banfield said. People should always remember to lock their vehicles, never leave valuables inside and keep a porch light on.
