ARLINGTON – The third- largest air show in the nation begins in Arlington today as the Northwest Experimental Aircraft Association Fly-In and Sport Aviation Convention gets under way.
The event runs through Sunday at the Arlington Airport, 4700 188th St. NE or 18204 59th Drive NE.
Highlights include aerobatics shows at 1 p.m. today, 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Hot air balloon launchings will take place early in the mornings. Exhibits will include a show of military aircraft at 10 a.m. Friday, and former Air National Guard pilots will tell stories about flying in the 1950s and ’60s at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Today offers numerous children’s activities, and Friday’s schedule includes chances to interact with wartime aircraft and pilots. Tickets are $15 a day, $40 for the entire session.
