Arlington man’s death in Camano Island fire deemed suicide

CAMANO ISLAND — A man who died in a Nov. 18 house fire on Camano Island had committed suicide, officials said Friday.

The man was 60, of Arlington, and died from smoke inhalation, Island County Coroner Robert Bishop said.

The fire was reported late that morning along Sundown Lane, about 45 minutes after the estimated time of death.

The Island County Sheriff’s Office has not released the cause of the fire.
