ARLINGTON — A 78-year-old Arlington man died Friday after suffering a medical episode while driving on I-5, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Just before 11:45 a.m., the man was driving north on I-5 approaching the Stillaguamish River Bridge about 6 miles north of Smokey Point when he experienced a medical emergency, according to state patrol. His car left the road and struck the concrete barrier. The car came to a stop just before the bridge.
He was taken to the Skagit Valley Hospital, where he later died, state patrol reported.
