Arlington: ‘White Christmas’ at school

Arlington High School’s drama department is set to present the classic Irving Berlin musical “White Christmas” at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Dec. 10 and 11 at Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. A matinee is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 11. Tickets are $12 or $9 for seniors and students. Reserved seating is available online at www.byrnesperform ingarts.org or at the door 45 minutes before show time.

The large cast is directed by Scott Moberly, with choreography by Becky Oesch and musical direction by Jeff Swanson. Students Caroline Rensel, Jordan Tanguay, Kelsey Ghirardo and Nathan Braaten play some of the lead characters.

Darrington: Tree lighting tonight

Darrington Area Business Association members have invited the community to a Christmas tree lighting party at 6 tonight at Town Hall, followed by the lighting of a second tree at Old School Park.

Darrington Cascade Senior Center is set to be open to serve hot cider, hot chocolate and treats to those who attend. The Sauk Suiattle Tribe donated lights for the trees.

Marysville: Holiday lighting contest

Residents and business owners in Marysville can participate in a holiday lighting contest organized by the Marysville Strawberry Festival board of directors. Contest entry forms and rules are online at www.maryfest.com or can be picked up at Carr’s Hardware, Hilton Pharmacy, Marysville Everett Ceramic Tile and Whidbey Island Bank. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, Dec. 8.

Firefighters collect food bank donations

Marysville firefighters plan to collect food for the Marysville Food Bank at Safeway today, Thursday and Friday.

Firefighters are scheduled to collect donations from 3 to 7 p.m. at 1258 State Ave.

Merrysville for the Holidays

The Merrysville for the Holidays event is set for Saturday at Comeford Park.

The event from 2 to 8:30 p.m. is scheduled to feature a handmade craft show, a concert performance by Marysville Pilchuck High School Jazz Band, a bonfire in the park, the lighting of the Marysville Watertower, family photo opportunities, a visit from Santa Claus and the return of the Electric Lights Parade. Comeford Park is located at 514 Delta Ave.

The beginning of the Electric Lights Parade is planned for 6:30 p.m. on State Avenue. Parade entries from floats to bikes and groups walking together can apply to be part of the parade through today at the Marysville Parks office at 6915 Armar Road.

Tulalip: Native Art and Crafts Bazaar set

The Tulalip Tribes annual arts and Crafts Bazaar is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and again on Dec. 11 and 12 in the tribal gym, 6700 Totem Beach Road. Tulalip Lions Club members plan to cook fry bread and Indian tacos. Other Lions Cub members from Arlington, Marysville, Seven Lakes and Stanwood plan to help out.
