ARLINGTON — An Arlington area woman was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault Thursday night after allegedly running over her boyfriend with an SUV.
The Marysville man suffered a broken ankle and severe “road rash,” injuries consistent with being dragged by a vehicle and having skin scraped off along the pavement, according to court papers.
Both the suspect and victim had been drinking, court papers said.
Without being asked about the man’s injuries, the woman, 41, told a Snohomish County sheriff’s office deputy that she hadn’t done anything wrong.
She told the deputy, “He’s faking it. He’s totally faking it. I didn’t run him over. He’s lying.”
Witnesses and the victim, 44, reported otherwise.
A deputy wrote in a police report that the man was bleeding from his face, head and hands “and his injuries were consistent with having been run over with a motor vehicle.”
The assault was reported around 11:15 p.m. in the 900 block of 188th Street NE near Arlington.
The deputy wrote that the woman smelled of alcohol, her eyes were bloodshot and watery and that her speech was slurred.
A witness said the woman ran over the man and dragged him several feet before reversing the SUV back up a driveway.
A blood sample was taken from the suspect.
She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of domestic violence vehicular assault.
