MARYSVILLE — A Snohomish County man was sentenced Thursday to more than 26 years in prison for a robbery that ended in gunfire in Marysville.
David Tieken, 26, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and first-degree assault earlier this month in Snohomish County Superior Court, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
Marysville patrol officers on Dec. 30 found a Marysville man kneeling and bleeding outside the front door of his apartment in the 1900 block of First Street.
The man, 22, told investigators that two men came to his apartment and one pointed a black revolver at him.
He told police he pushed the gun to the side and it went off. He said the next thing he remembered was waking up bleeding from the head and neck. He reported about $1,000 in cash missing from his pocket. His heroin and an iPod Touch also were stolen.
Police believe the man was hit in the head with the gun and shot. His left ear was partially detached, and there appeared to be a gunshot wound to the back of his neck. The injuries were not life-threatening.
Two bullet holes also were found in a bedroom wall.
Tieken and two accomplices later were arrested by police around the area working together. He originally agreed to plead guilty with a recommended sentence of 22 years but became disruptive and threatening in the courtroom, Lamoureux said. He now may face a contempt of court charge.
Tieken’s girlfriend, who drove the getaway vehicle, pleaded guilty in Superior Court earlier this month to first-degree robbery, Lamoureux said. She is awaiting sentencing.
The second man remains jailed. His case is still working through the courts.
