Mill Creek: Council sets budget hearing
The Mill Creek City Council has scheduled a public hearing to review the 2015-16 budget for 6 p.m. on Dec. 2.
People may ask questions and submit written comments to the City Clerk before the hearing.
It is to take place at City Hall, located at 15728 Main St. To arrange special accommodations, call 425-745-1891 three days before to the meeting.
Snohomish: Bazaar to benefit Bali orphanage
A bazaar that is to feature handcrafted items from the island of Bali, Indonesia has been set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Cross View Church, 604 Avenue C in Snohomish, is hosting the event.
The proceeds benefit My Father’s Home, a non-profit orphanage in Bali. Kim and Brian Boyer, of Snohomish, help administer the orphanage. They are expected to make a presentation on Friday for those who arrive at the bazaar by 7 p.m.
Snohomish: Seeks planning commissioner
The city of Snohomish is looking for volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission.
The commission considers land use, regional and comprehensive plan issues and makes recommendations to the City Council. Members must live within the city’s urban growth area.
The vacancy was created when Paulette Norman resigned. Her replacement will begin immediately upon City Council confirmation of the mayor’s appointment. The term expires July 20, 2017.
Applications are available at City Hall and online at snohomishwa.gov. They should be delivered to City Hall by 4 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Everett: School boards earn distinction
The Washington State School Director’s Association has named the boards of directors of the Everett and Lake Stevens school districts “boards of distinction.” The awards are given to boards that promote practices that lead to high levels of student and district achievement.
Everett and Lake Stevens are two of 17 districts in the state whose boards were given that designation this year.
