Arlington: Sign up for July 4 parade
Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics and the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce are once again sponsoring Arlington’s biggest celebration, the 4th of July Grand Parade.

Edmonds: Open house on flooding on Highway 104
The city of Edmonds is planning to talk about the causes of the flooding at the intersection of Dayton Street and Highway 104 and a recommendation to address the problem. The open house is planned from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Brackett Room on the third floor of Edmonds City Hall, 121 5th Ave N.
Following the presentation, the meeting will be open to questions. Representatives of the engineering firm SAIC, who assisted the city on this project, will be available to answer questions.
Lake Stevens: Fire district annexation topic of meeting
The Lake Stevens fire district plans a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday regarding the proposed annexation of about 14 acres in the Valtera View area.
Related annexation paperwork is available at the district headquarters, 1825 S. Lake Stevens Road, where the meeting is planned.
Snohomish: Proposed wildlife park to be discussed
The Snohomish City Council is scheduled to discuss a proposed wildlife park at its meeting tonight. The area is about 40 acres, including a former sewage lagoon and privately owned wetlands located next to the current sewage treatment plant, along the Snohomish River west of Highway 9.
More than 140 bird species have been seen nesting there or using the wetlands for habitat, including great blue herons, red-tailed hawks, swallows and ducks. The park has been controversial for among other reasons a ban on dogs from the area.
A proposed name was the Snohomish Riverview Sanctuary. Now, a new proposal for the name is the Riverview Wildlife Refuge. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the George Gilbertson Boardroom, 1601 Ave. D, Snohomish.
Stanwood: Summer meal program to operate at 2 schools
The Stanwood-Camano School District plans to offer free breakfast and lunch to children in the Stanwood-Camano community this summer. All children 18 and younger can receive free meals Monday through Thursday starting June 24 at Stanwood High School, 7400 272nd St NW Stanwood. Breakfast times will be 8:30-10 a.m. and lunch will be 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Starting July 9 a second meal service site will open at Twin City Elementary, 26211 72nd Ave. NW, Stanwood. Breakfast will be 8:30-9:30 a.m., and lunch will be served 12:15-1:15 p.m .Tuesday through Thursday. There will be free YMCA programs.
The meals will be served through Aug. 22 although no meals will be served on the Fourth of July at Stanwood High School.
