Arlington: Forum to focus on homeless
A community forum about student homelessness in the Arlington area is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Arlington United Church, 338 N. MacLeod Ave. Members of the City Council, school board and community volunteers are expected to attend. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting as well.

Everett: City touts tourism initiatives
A new city initiative aims to draw more visitors by promoting local events to audiences far and wide.
The effort is called Experience Everett. You can find it online at www.experienceeverett.com, on Facebook or on Twitter.
“We firmly believe that this website showcases our unique qualities to travelers while engaging local residents, too,” coordinator Sean Straub said.
Over the summer, Everett-based events attracted more than 20,000 people. One of the events, co-hosted by Experience Everett, was the inaugural Everett Craft Beer Festival, which brought more than 3,400 people to the downtown area. Several nearby restaurants reported a jump in business ranging from 50 to 120 percent that day.
The tourism industry employs nearly 15,000 people in the county.
Marysville: Fitness classes offered
Marysville Parks and Recreation plans to offer several fitness classes for adults and senior adults. Classes include kettlebell fitness, yoga for relaxation, yoga for beginners, yoga gentle stretch, power yoga, Zumba classes including Zumba Gold, senior aerobics, running, boot camp, hoop dance and belly dance. Terrace: Police chief to report on department
Police Chief Greg Wilson will present a year-end report on his department to the City Council at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Interim City Hall Council Chambers, 6100 219th Street SW, Suite 220.
Wilson is expected to say in the report that a visible police presence in the community combined with proactive enforcement helps suppress criminal activity.
He’ll also talk about successes of the department’s code enforcement, electronic home monitoring and animal control programs.
