Arlington: Village Community Services benefit
Village Community Services’ annual Music and Arts garage sale continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday at 12012 240th St. NE in the Arlington Heights neighborhood.
Voices of the Village plans a concert at 2 p.m. Saturday at the garage sale and lunch is available that day by donation. Proceeds benefit the Village Music and Arts program for people with disabilities.
Camano: Tour includes historic schoolhouse
The Historic Camano City Schoolhouse, located off W. Camano Drive and Chapman Road, is open during the Camano Island Studio Tour, today through Sunday and May 19 and 20.

Everett: Monte Cristo Nominations
The city’s Office of Neighborhoods is accepting nominations for the 18th annual Monte Cristo Awards, an honor given to property owners who have shown pride in their property.
Nominations will be accepted through June 1. Awards are given in three categories: rejuvenation and transformation, pride of the neighborhood and neighborhood friendly business.
Nomination forms are available to pick up at the Everett Library branches, the city of Everett’s office lobby in the Wall Street Building, the PUD and at local home improvement, paint and lumber stores and through neighborhood associations.

The public is invited to attend the Hands on Diversity workshop from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.
Stanwood: Learn about the coal train issue
The Food for Thought Film &Lecture Series, hosted by the Snow Goose Bookstore and the Open Gate Farm, offers a discussion about the trains that would carry coal through Snohomish County to the proposed Cherry Point Coal Export Terminal in Whatcom County.
The event is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the bookstore, 8616 271st St. NW.

Terrace: Input sought on civic center plan
Mountlake Terrace city officials will discuss the proposed Civic Center project and answer questions at “Civic Center 101” presentations this month. Proposition No. 1, on the August primary ballot, also would make improvements to the library.
