Darrington: Work to close highway sections

The U.S. Forest Service is closing sections of the Mountain Loop Highway during weekdays through Aug. 19 for culvert replacement.

Each closure will stop traffic coming from Granite Falls blocking access to the national forest past Forest Service road No. 4080, including Elliot Creek Road to the Goat Lake trailhead, Sloan Creek road to Glacier Peak Wilderness, Bedal Campground and Forest Service road No. 49.

To avoid traffic closure delays during the week, get to the loop highway through Darrington.
