Gold Bar: Reiter Foothills work party
Volunteers can help fine-tune the location of new trails for off-road vehicles at Reiter Foothills during a Saturday work party.
The event takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Reiter gravel parking area, located along Reiter Road.
Led by the state Department of Natural Resources, volunteers also will clear brush from the proposed motorized trail routes, increasing accessibility for hikers.

Granite Falls: New sidewalks planned
A neighborhood meeting is planned for Tuesday regarding new sidewalks planned for Cascade Avenue between Galena and Pioneer streets, and on Pioneer Street from Cascade to S. Granite Avenue.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 206 S. Granite Ave.
Construction includes 1,110 feet of 6-foot-wide sidewalk, a curb, 5-foot-wide planter strip, trees and electrical conduit for street lighting.

Mountlake Terrace: City allows goats to control vegetation
Under updated regulations, goats are now allowed to eat vegetation on residential properties of at least 10,000 square feet.
The change is part of a move that gives the police department authority over animal control.
