Stanwood: Eat lutefisk on Halloween
The 58th annual Stanwood Lions Club Lutefisk Dinner is set for 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Sunday at Stanwood High School, 7400 272nd St. NW.
Cost is $20 or $7 for children ages 7 to 12. Younger children can eat for free.
The all-you-can-eat dinner is served family style.
For non-Scandinavians, lutefisk is dry cod fish that is soaked in a lye solution to a gelatinous state, rinsed, steamed and served with a creamy white sauce and a variety of side dishes.
The fact that the dinner is on Halloween is a coincidence, club members said.
