Everett
City planning director honored by groups
Allan Giffen, the director of Everett’s Planning and Community Development Department, recently was named public employee of the year by the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties and the Puget Sound chapter of the American Planning Association.
Bellevue’s Development Services Director Mike Brennan also was given the award. The award was created two years ago to honor public employees who best exemplify the spirit of seeking meaningful solutions to the challenges of growth while maintaining responsible environmental stewardship, according to the organizations.
Giffen was recognized for his work on the city’s new downtown plan and his work on several development projects around town.
