Save money at transfer station with coupons

The city of Everett is offering coupons good for a $17 credit toward up to 360 pounds of garbage and yard debris deposited at the Airport Road Recycling and Transfer Station.

The coupons are part of a pilot program through the city’s neighborhoods office. Coupons are limited to one per household and are valid through Sept. 30.

The coupons only are available to Everett residents, who must provide proof of residency. Coupons are available through the north and south precinct police offices, the city clerk’s office at 2930 Wetmore Ave. and at the city utility billing office at 3200 Cedar St.

Marysville

City’s transportation plan to be discussed

A workshop on the city’s transportation plan is scheduled for a meeting of the Marysville Planning Commission tonight.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1049 State Ave.

The commission also is scheduled to discuss policies and rules related to development on slopes.

Lake Stevens

Music on the Lake continues Thursday

The band NorthEnd Jazz is scheduled to perform Thursday as part of the Music on the Lake series of concerts this summer.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. in North Cove Park, behind City Hall at 1812 Main St.

Concerts are planned each Thursday through Aug. 14.

Monroe

Sky Valley Food Bank seeks school supplies

The Sky Valley Food Bank is collecting donations of school supplies to help underprivileged students in the Monroe School District.

People can donate new backpacks and other school supplies or money to purchase the supplies at Sky Valley Food Bank, P.O. Box 724, Monroe, WA 98272. Checks must have the designation “School Days” on them. Donations are needed before the last two weeks in August.

Snohomish

National Night Out coming in August

This year’s National Night Out is 4 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 5 at Snohomish Boys &Girls Club, 402 Second St.

The annual event aims to help area residents get to know law enforcement officers to combat crime. The event is expected to include a bicycle parade for children and a skateboard contest.
