Mountlake Terrace
New plants and stream bed for Lyon Creek
A portion of Lyon Creek is planned to be restored under a contract recently approved by the Mountlake Terrace City Council.
A new stream bed for the creek will be dug near the intersection of Cedar Way and 244th Street SW. The existing stream bed will be backfilled, invasive vegetation will be removed and new, native plants to the area will be planted.
In addition to improving the stream’s habitat, the work is expected to protect Cedar Way and the sidewalk north of 244th Street SW from flood damage.
Langsholt Construction Inc. of Monroe was awarded a $125,000 contract for the restoration work.
Snohomish
Map shows how the town is growing
The city’s Web site features an updated construction and development activity map that shows what is being built in the city. The Web site is at www.ci.snohomish.wa.us.
The map features major commercial and housing projects, including Snohomish Station, the city’s single largest economic development project in recent years, on Bickford Avenue. Fred Meyer, Kohl’s and Home Depot opened earlier this year at the 400,000-square-foot shopping center.
