Summer farmers market to open Thursday
This summer’s downtown Lake Stevens farmers market is scheduled to open Thursday.
The market is planned for 5 p.m. to sunset every Thursday from June through August at North Cove Park, 1812 Main St.

Downtown master plan available on the Web
The city’s new downtown master plan and design guidelines are now available on the city’s Web site at www.ci.monroe.wa.us. The plan is a blueprint for future downtown revitalization. Local residents, businesses and property owners collaborated with the city to create the plan.
The downtown along Main Street used to be a commercial hub in the Skykomish Valley.

Snohomish
Town meeting to discuss growth north of U.S. 2
City officials are set to have a town meting on a proposed expansion of its urban growth area north of U.S. 2 at 7 p.m. today at Harvey Auditorium, Fire District 4 training annex, 1525 Ave. D.
The city of Snohomish has gathered public opinions about the proposed expansion. The city wants to add 265 acres north of U.S. 2 to its boundaries. Developers are interested in adding businesses and houses in the area. The city hopes to rake in tax revenue from the development.
The city of Lake Stevens is also interested in adding the 265 acres to its boundaries.
