Mountlake Terrace: Funding Interim City Hall

The Mountlake Terrace City Council plans to discuss options for funding the Interim City hall at 7 p.m. Monday in the Interim City Council Chambers, 6100 219th St. SW, Suite 220.

Earlier this year, a bond measure to fund a Civic Center along with library and police station repairs fell short of reaching the 60 percent requirement for passage.

The city says there is no funding available beginning in 2014 to continue renting the Interim City Hall. Some of the options under consideration include a property tax levy lid lift ballot measure to pay the rent, a reallocation of existing resources to include service cuts or a combination of a property tax increase and some service cuts.
