Everett: Designated Healthy Workplace

The Snohomish Health District has presented its first Healthy Workplace Award to Community Transit.

The award honors businesses, agencies and other organizations which have adopted 100 percent outdoor no-smoking grounds or tobacco-free grounds policies that go beyond Washington’s Smoking in Public Places law.

As of July 1, the transit agency prohibits any tobacco- containing products and electronic cigarettes on company property and work sites.

This includes its 2,100 bus stops and shelters and its 20 park-and-ride sites and transit centers.
