Global Spectrum, management for the Comcast Arena at Everett, announced the launch of a text messaging platform that allows people to report issues to building management while at an event.
The platform also will include a VIP text club opt-in for fans to receive additional value in the form of special offers.

School health fair for teens and parents
Evergreen Middle School is sponsoring a health fair for teens and parents focusing on free activities, healthy eating, good habits and health awareness. The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 19 at the school, 7621 Beverly Lane.
Other goals include better sleep practices, enhanced family communication and how to seek resources for physical and mental health problems.
Basic health screenings including blood pressure and tests to determine if someone is overweight or obese will be available. Vaccinations will be available for $15 or on a sliding fee scale.

Granite Falls: Gravel pit public hearing
A public hearing on the expansion of Menzel Lake Gravel is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday in Everett.
The gravel company, located a couple miles outside Granite Falls, has applied to Snohomish County to expand from 51 acres to 283 acres.
The hearing is set in Public Hearing Room 2 on the first floor of the Administrative East Building at 3000 Rockefeller Ave.
Lynnwood: Hearing set for property sale
People who want to speak about the sale of city-owned property to Edmonds Community College can do so during a hearing scheduled for Monday during the Lynnwood City Council meeting.
The property for sale is approximately 3.65 acres located on 196th Street Southwest. The parcel includes two office buildings, outside storage and parking. The proposed price of the property is $2.5 million and includes an agreement for use by the city. The property is planned for the future expansion of Edmonds Community College campus facilities and parking.

Mountlake Terrace: Apply for police citizens academy
Mountlake Terrace police are accepting applications for the next citizens academy. The classes will be held Thursday nights at the Mountlake Terrace library beginning in late April.
Space for the class is limited, so people are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. March 31.
Those who take the class will learn about canine units, SWAT and narcotics, among other topics. Applicants have to undergo a background check before they are accepted into the class. The class will wrap up in June.
