EVERETT — A man and a woman were arrested late Friday in connection with an Everett homicide. They are being held on suspicion of aggravated first-degree murder.
Darren D. Larson, 55, was shot in the back and killed Tuesday. It happened during an apparent robbery at his apartment on 22nd Street.
Police allege the suspects were after money and drugs. Larson’s roommate, a 38-year-old man, was pistol-whipped and then pulled a stun gun on his attackers, according to Everett police. He was shot in the head during the confrontation and is expected to survive. He appears to have been the target of the robbery. The pair of suspects reportedly had stolen from him a few days earlier. At some point in the melee, Larson was shot.
The suspects were found Friday at a hotel in Seattle. The man is 24 and described as homeless. He is accused of being the shooter. He also is being held for investigation of theft and assault. The woman, 18, is accused of going along with the plan for armed robbery.
