EVERETT — The Forest Park Swim Center is closed after someone set fire to an outside wall early this morning, causing an estimated $100,000 damage.
Firefighters found the fire about 2:50 a.m. after an alarm sounded. Evidence found at the scene led police to believe that someone intentionally set the fire, Everett Sgt. Boyd Bryant. He would not say how the fire was started or what evidence investigators found at the pool.
The fire was contained to an outside wall and a corner of the roof, Bryant said.
About 250 people use the pool daily, including the Everett High School swim team.
It is unclear when the pool will reopen.
