LYNNWOOD — An arson here Thanksgiving night destroyed an abandoned house, officials said Monday.
The house in the 15500 block of 48th Ave. W., north of Lynnwood, had seen similar fires twice since June, said Leslie Hynes, spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1. The fire was reported about 10:15 p.m.
The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. It took them about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, Hynes said.
In June, a fire was reported in the house, and witnesses saw some boys fleeing the area, officials said. Earlier this month, the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office determined a carport fire there also was an arson.
Fire District 1 and Lynnwood firefighters battled Thursday’s blaze.
The house has been abandoned for several years, officials said. The investigation remains open, but there are no suspects. Information on the property has been sent to code enforcement for review.
