MARYSVILLE — Students at Marysville-Pilchuck High School were placed in lockdown for about an hour Thursday as police investigated an assault near the school.
About 10 a.m., a Marysville woman, 31, got into a shouting match with her boyfriend, 38, in a home in the 5300 block of 116th Street NE, Marysville police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said.
That’s just north of the high school.
She left and walked to a convenience store at 100th Street NE and 51st Avenue NE. Her boyfriend followed in his car, Krusey said.
The man allegedly brandished a semi-automatic rifle and threatened to kill the woman and her family, police said. He then drove away.
Police tracked the man down back at his home, surrounded the area and arrested him without incident, Krusey said.
“It’s a very successful ending with him being taken into custody with no injuries to anyone,” he said.
The man was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree domestic violence assault.
