Assistance League of Everett presented longtime member Nancy Haug with its Ada Edwards Laughlin Award at a recent annual business meeting. The award, named after a National Assistance League co-founder, honors and recognizes meritorious service from its members. Assistance League of Everett is one of 120 chapters of the nationwide organization.
Haug joined the Everett chapter in 2001, following an extensive career in marketing. She was instrumental in securing a grant for Operation School Bell and has devoted many hours to leading various committees and mentoring new members.
Meanwhile, the group also appointed Caryl de Jong as its new president of the executive board. Since joining the chapter in 2008, de Jong has served in a variety of leadership positions with Assistance League and other local nonprofits.
