LYNNWOOD — Two children who were killed Friday in a crash on I-5 near Lynnwood have been identified by authorities.
Amiyah S. Johnson was 12, of Everett. She died at the scene. Amiyah was a sixth-grader at Olympic View Middle School, according to a letter sent home to families on Sunday.
Another girl, Yesterday Wallace, 2, died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The names were made public Tuesday by medical examiners in Snohomish and King counties.
Amiyah and Yesterday were cousins, according to the letter by Olympic View Principal Devin McLane. Additional counselors were made available to students affected by the loss.
Two other children who went to Harborview were boys, ages 5 and 7. No update on their condition was available, but they are expected to survive, according to police.
The children all were riding northbound in a Nissan Quest minivan just after 3 p.m. The minivan and a sedan reportedly slowed or stopped for traffic near the 164th Street exit. A pickup apparently collided with the minivan and pushed it into the sedan, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The minivan driver, a 43-year-old Marysville man, also was hospitalized, along with another passenger, a 39-year-old woman. Three other people involved were not hurt.
The investigation is ongoing, trooper Heather Axtman said Tuesday.
No information on memorial services has been made public.
