VANCOUVER — Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for a string of 15 fires on Vancouver’s west side.
The Columbian newspaper in Vancouver reports that no one was hurt in any of the blazes reported Saturday and Monday. Damaged property includes garbage and recycling receptacles, fences, part of a Mazda truck, flags, and a paper bag on a front porch.
Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli said that the fires are related.
A person was seen running from one of the scenes, but investigators do not a have a description of the suspect.
The Vancouver Police Arson Unit is working with the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate. The reward is being offered through the Arson Alarm Foundation.
