ROYAL CITY — Authorities say a body believed to be that of a 55-year-old missing hunter has been found in central Washington.
KHQ reported the body was found Wednesday morning west of Royal City. Thomas Mark Stieg had been missing since Nov. 20.
While an official cause of death has not been determined, the Grant County Sheriff’s office said it appears Stieg fell. There is no indication of foul play.
Stieg was last seen a few miles south of Highway 26. Stieg left home Friday morning for a one-day hunt. His vehicle was located. His family said Stieg was an experienced mountaineer and survivalist, as well as a former Marine.
