SEATTLE — The Coast Guard said a barge broke in half and settled in shallow water off Harbor Island in Seattle. Lt. Jennifer Runion said the barge was loading gravel Friday afternoon when it buckled, spilling gravel into the water. Runion said one man was on board at the time but was not injured, and added that no reports of contamination have been received.
