Washington State University Extension’s Beach Watchers are inviting people to sign up for a one-day educational conference Oct. 25 about living on Puget Sound.
The event, dubbed a “communiversity,” is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower Ave. Topics include local sharks, underwater photography, ocean acidification in the Pacific Northwest, bald eagle ecology and sea star wasting disease.
Everett Public Library historian David Dilgard is to give a keynote speech.
Registration costs $30 before Oct. 18. There’s a reduced fee of $20 for students, teachers and military personnel. Walk-ins are welcome the day of the conference, but cost an additional $5.
