BELLEVUE — The Bellevue City Council is welcoming Councilman John Chelminiak back for the first time since he was mauled by a bear.
The city said Mayor Don Davidson will make a brief presentation before a Monday night study session.
Chelminiak is still undergoing treatment for his injuries. He was attacked by a black bear Sept. 17 near his family’s vacation cabin at Lake Wenatchee.
Chelminiak suffered severe injuries to his head and neck and has had multiple surgeries. Doctors were unable to save his left eye, but otherwise they say he should make a full recovery.
