Bellevue girl dies after I-90 crash

SEATTLE — A service is planned Sunday night for a 9-year-old Bellevue girl who died being critically injured in a multi-car crash on Interstate 90 last Wednesday.

Rachel Beckwith was taken off life-support Saturday evening at Harborview Medical Center.

The Seattle Times said that last month, in lieu of presents for her 9th birthday, Rachel had raised $220 for a charity providing water to villages in Africa. Sympathy for the little girl and her family since the accident had raised more than $22,000 into the fund.
