BELLEVUE — Bellevue science teacher Ryan Lafferty has won a prestigious national award.
The award was announced Thursday at an assembly at Bellevue’s International School.
The Milken Educator Award comes with an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize. Lafferty is one of 40 teachers across the nation honored with the award this year.
Despite teaching the challenging subject of Physics, Lafferty’s classes are in high demand because of his fun, project-based approach to learning. His students learn physics from movies, art, musical instruments and construction projects.
