BELLINGHAM — A Bellingham woman will serve time in jail and under house arrest for striking a boy on a bike with her car, driving him to school and dropping him off bleeding to get help on his own.
The Bellingham Herald reported that 37-year-old Ann Marie Loeuy was sentenced Wednesday to 15 days in Whatcom County jail and 75 days of house arrest for felony hit and run.
According to court documents, Loeuy struck the 12-year-old boy in October as he rode across an unmarked crosswalk. The car crashed into his left leg and he was thrown from his bike. Court documents show Loeuy got out of the car and when the boy asked to call his dad she said they should just get him to school instead.
