TACOMA — Biodiesel stored in a garage exploded in flames Tuesday night in a Tacoma neighborhood and flaming fluid flowed down an alley.
Neighbors reported hearing a blast about 8 p.m. and seeing thick smoke.
No one was injured.
Firefighters blocked storm drains so the oil wouldn’t get in.
The owner said he rented the garage to a small-scale biodiesel operation. A few hundred gallons of vegetable oil were reportedly in the garage.
