STANWOOD — A two-alarm fire destroyed a Stanwood-area house Tuesday evening and threatened nearby homes, firefighters said.
Two people escaped unharmed before the blaze consumed the house in the 7800 block of S. Lake Ketchum Road, said Snohomish County Fire District 14 Capt. Christian Davis.
The fire, reported at 4:50 p.m., "was a tough one for the crews because of reports of a paint shop in the area storing items there," Davis said. "That added to the danger for firefighters."
Firefighters prevented flames from spreading to other homes, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office.
