Everett: Could your pup be a therapy dog?

A pet therapy trainer plans to offer a free presentation, “Is Your Dog a Therapy Dog?” at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Everett Public Library, main library auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

Trainer Annemarie Kaighin takes her dogs to visit nursing homes. She runs a dog-training service in Arlington.

Everett: Reserve a table at holiday bazaar

The Everett Senior Activity Center is accepting vendor table reservations for its annual holiday bazaar planned for Nov. 20. Items must be new and handmade. Vendors pay $15 to $30 depending on the size of the table.

Lynnwood: Council to meet consultant

The consulting company hired to help the city of Lynnwood come up with a brand identity is spending the week visiting with business owners and city leaders and will attend the 7 p.m. City Council meeting Wednesday at City Hall, 19100 44th Ave. W.

The city has budgeted $80,000 to have North Star Destination Strategies help it develop a brand strategy.

Monroe: Hear about Reiter Foothills plan

The Department of Natural Resources will discuss restoration and trail work planned for Reiter Foothills this Thursday night.

Discussion will hit on several points, including the temporary closure of the foothills this winter and spring to begin restoration work in the area.

The meeting takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Park Place Middle School Commons, 1408 W. Main St., Monroe.

The 10,000-acre forest that makes up Reiter Foothills is located north of U.S. 2 near Index. The forest is popular among hikers and off-road enthusiasts.

Stanwood: Bazaar Saturday at church

The Freeborn Lutheran Church bazaar is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2304 300th St. NW, Stanwood.

Sultan: Have coffee with the mayor

Mayor Carolyn Eslick will host a coffee hour from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday at the Dutch Cup Restaurant, 922 Main St.

The casual meeting is meant to give residents and business owners a chance to ask questions and discuss other issues in an informal forum.

Whidbey Island: Prowlers return today

Electronic Attack Squadron 139 Cougars are scheduled to return home today after a five-month combat deployment aboard the USS Ronald Reagan.

Four EA-6B Prowlers and 16 aviators are to be followed by two airlifts Wednesday with about 180 of the squadron’s maintenance and support personnel.

The squadron left for deployment in late May and flew more than 1,350 hours, of which 850 were combat hours. The crew had port calls in Singapore, Jebel Ali and Phuket, Thailand, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

In addition, 21 members of the Sea Operational Detachment from Fleet Readiness Center Northwest, which provides technical support to keep the jets in top condition, will return with the squadron.[/URL]
