Board approves overpass design
The Arlington School Board on Monday approved design documents for a pedestrian overpass on Highway 9 at Crown Ridge Boulevard and Eaglefield Drive.
The overpass would improve pedestrian safety for students at Arlington High School and Pioneer Elementary School.
“The earliest it could be done is January 2006,” assistant superintendent Warren Hopkins said.
Approving the design documents allows the district to begin the permit process and come up with firm construction costs.
Shearer Design of Seattle did the design work. The preliminary estimate was $1.1 million.
