LYNNWOOD — Police believe a man found dead in Lake Stickney on Wednesday night was a fugitive from the Spokane area.
Neighbors along North Lake Stickney Drive reported a body floating near a dock about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Snohomish County sheriff’s bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said.
The man’s identity had not been released as of Friday evening. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
Detectives believe the man was involved in a pursuit with sheriff’s deputies a few days earlier, Prentiss said. The pursuit ended near the lake, when the man abandoned his vehicle. A police dog search ended near a dock on the lake.
The body found apparently matches the suspect’s description, Prentiss said. The man had an outstanding arrest warrant.
