Body found in Lake Washington could be missing man

SEATTLE — A body found in Lake Washington could be the man who went missing last weekend in the water off Kirkland.

The King County Sheriff’s Office reported a boater spotted the body this morning about 500 yards off Juanita Beach.

It was turned over to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

Twenty-year-old Javed Khan went underwater Saturday near a friend’s boat and didn’t come up. Divers searched for the body but were hampered by water weeds up to 15 feet tall.
