Camp Fire Snohomish County was able to purchase a brand-new 12-passenger van thanks to a $40,000 donation from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound.
“We can now transport our Camp Fire youth to conduct community service projects, attend workshops, explore on field trips and help our community thrive,” said Kena Masonholder, group program director.
The donation is part of the local Camp Fire’s capital campaign, which so far has raised $1,590,359. The organization hopes to meet its goal of $2,179,000 by the end of the year.
Camp Fire Snohomish County club and camp programs are open to all boys and girls. Last year its youth services and programs, including those at Camp Killoqua, provided 264,616 program hours for over 8,000 participants. The capital campaign is expected to help Camp Fire serve an additional 4,000 youth each year.
