BAGHDAD — A roadside bomb killed two U.S. soldiers in a predominantly Shiite area in Baghdad on Monday.
The U.S. military said another American soldier was wounded when the blast struck a U.S. patrol Monday morning in eastern Baghdad.
The soldiers were the first to be killed in Baghdad since July 8, when a roadside bomb killed a U.S. Army medic in the western neighborhood of Amariyah, a Sunni area.
Also, two American soldiers were killed in noncombat incidents Saturday — one southwest of Baghdad and another north of the capital, the U.S. military said. Three soldiers were injured in the two incidents.
