EVERETT — An Everett-area man well-known to local police was arrested early Wednesday after a pursuit.
The 33-year-old was accused of a car chase in May. He is a felon who is fond of guns and reportedly keeps them in a secret compartment inside a bench in his home.
The Wednesday incident started before 1 a.m. along 27th Avenue SE. Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies recognized the man as he drove and knew he had warrants, according to the arrest report.
They tried to pull him over and he reportedly took off. The chase wound toward Everett Mall Way and reached speeds of 105 mph. The suspect crashed into a tree along Evergreen Way and took off running.
A device that appeared to be a military-grade grenade allegedly was found in the car, prompting a call to the bomb squad.
