SEATTLE — A 12-year-old boy walking to school was struck by a car Friday morning as he crossed a street in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood.
Police say he rolled on the hood and hit his head on the windshield.
The driver stopped, and police conducted standard tests for intoxicants.
Witnesses told KOMO (http://bit.ly/1qCld00 ) the driver ran a red light and hit the boy in a crosswalk. He remained conscious as he was put in an ambulance.
Seattle Public Schools spokeswoman Stacey Howard says the boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center and was expected to be released later Friday.
He’s a seventh-grader at Hamilton International Middle School.
