MONROE — A 17-year-old boy was taken to a Seattle hospital by helicopter Thursday after he fell off a rope swing along the Snoqualmie River and landed on rocks.
The boy was swimming with friends near the High Bridge boat launch around 2 p.m., said Heather Chadwick, a spokeswoman with Snohomish County Fire District 7.
The boy was swinging on a rope that dangled over the river. When he tried to jump into the water, he fell on rocks along the shore. He landed on his back, Chadwick said.
The boy was talking when paramedics arrived. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
