MONROE – A 14-year-old Seattle boy is under investigation for assault after he allegedly punched another boy in the mouth at the conclusion of a Little League game in Monroe on Monday morning.
The Seattle teenager allegedly threw the punch as the two Little League teams lined up to give each other high fives after a game, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
The boy who was hit, 14, of Bellevue, suffered a cut lip, she said.
The boys were playing in a Triple Crown Memorial Day tournament at Skykomish River Park.
A parent filmed the alleged assault, Willis said. Police have asked for a copy of the video.
The boy, who doesn’t have a criminal record, was released to his parents, she said.
Snohomish County prosecutors will determine if the boy should be charged.
